As Summer fast approaches, although the weather has yet to catch up with the calendar, we are beavering away here at Coltsfoot.
There have been several weddings and functions since the last blog and we are all geared up for the next few busy weeks.
We now have our stunning new oak structure on the Main Entrance, recently built by Richard. We are in the process of having glass made up to fit the frame so that it is also weather proof when a Civil Ceremony is being held outside.
Also we must shout out about our recent food hygiene visit...5 Stars! Very pleased, although we know ourselves that we maintain high standards, it is always nice to have it officially confirmed.
We have just heard that the Fundraiser event, held here on Saturday, raised £9,000 for the Shooting Stars Academy. A fabulous acting academy that instill confidence and talent in children with acting aspirations. Mike and Helen Totton did a superb job hosting the event, with the back up of Mike's parents too. The funds will enable the Academy to showcase the children in future productions at the local Hawthorne Theatre. A fantastic amount and it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Entertainment was provided by a Hemel Hempstead based DJ - 'Intermix2' who offered a great variety of songs to suit a mixed age range. The Auction had some fabulous lots - 'Meet and Greet with Kim Wilde and Tony Hadley at Wembley Arena', 'Week in a Villa in Portugal' and a 'Behind the Scenes tour of the Eastenders set'.
A couple of weeks ago we had our bi-annual Wedding Show run by Main Event Wedding Shows. This is mainly an opportunity for wedding suppliers to attend and show their services to wedding couples. We were very lucky with the weather and it was fairly well attended.
Any couples who have recently got engaged or planning on getting married we can offer show round appointments throughout the week. As we offer our venue on an exclusive use basis the weekend appointments are very few and far between due to the bookings we have here. We are fairly flexible with times in the week and try to work around yourselves to fix an appointment.
Don't forget to watch out for up to date posts on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram sites.
